Desolate town
The ruins of a small town rise on the bend of an unnamed river. Nobody remembers its name anymore, but dilapidating concrete boxes of “dead” houses and destroyed warehouses tell a simple and sad story. The town, desolated after the catastrophe, was plundered by survivors who mercilessly killed each other on its winding streets. They fought for the right to possess the few surviving treasures of the Old World. Since then, only an empty shell of no value has remained and it hasn’t seen a single living soul for years. Until now.
It was the town’s silence that attracted the Ravagers, who were looking for a hidden place to arrange their base. Absolute uselessness of the ruins for survivors allowed mechanical monsters to stay unnoticed for a long time — it was too late when the Syndicate discovered their activity. Behind the collapsing bridges, among the concrete ruins of the dead world, black bodies of unknown devices were growing like poisonous mushrooms, ominously twisted with their red lights. The streets are now watched by the predatory lenses of surveillance cameras, ready to set an armada of combat vehicles against uninvited guests at any time. There is a lot of activity of an unknown nature happening throughout the nameless town. And the Syndicate is ready to pay well to the brave ones who agree to stop it.
Hundreds of mercenaries flock to the call of great profit. Very few return from the town that has become a deadly labyrinth, and they tell horrifying stories about entire Ravager armies and previously unseen huge combat vehicles. However, the Syndicate pays generously, and there are always new survivors who are willing to risk their heads to replenish their pockets and prevent the Ravagers from achieving their unknown goal. At least for some time.
